BS 5837 is the British Standard  for Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction. This industry standard outlines the procedures that should be taken to ensure that trees are appropriately and successfully retained when a development takes place. Urban developments that occur within the proximity of existing trees will require approval from the relevant local planning authority.
